Free Science Fiction Talk

Grant Stone will give a talk on “Science Fiction – Outer Space or Inner Space: A Western Australian perspective”, exploring how Western Australian authors and artists have shaped the global Science Fiction scene.

Grant is a Librarian and science fiction fan, and a recipient of the Chandler Award for Australian Science Fiction. His talk will include a display of items from Murdoch Library’s Science Fiction Collection.

Sunday July 30th is Murdoch Open Day! The Library will be hosting lots of fun activities and events, find out more here.

Murdoch Open Day at the Library!

Get to know the Library at Murdoch Open Day! We’ve got lots on including:
  • Library Therapy Dogs: Meet Rusty, Muppet, Sam and Heidi from 11am
  • Free Science Fiction talk at 12:30pm
  • Adopt a Tree: Plantings at 11am, 12pm and 1pm
  • Library Tours at 10am, 11:30am and 1:30pm.
You can also make-your-own bookmark, colouring activities and board games in the library foyer all day! Plus, if you're a Year 11 or 12 student, you can join the Library for free.

Come to Open Day and choose from hundreds of activities to find out more about study and life at Murdoch. Attend course talks, take tours, watch performances, meet students and staff, and soak up the campus atmosphere with free entertainment.

Downtime to Library resources - Tuesday 11th July

Due to a scheduled upgrade to our systems, there will be downtime to Library resources on Tuesday 11th July from 6am-8am (WST).

Affected services include offcampus access to online resources, the Library Catalogue, My Library and borrowing (renewals, requests).

New Promotional Screens in the Library

The Geoffrey Bolton Library now has three newly installed digital display screens- in the main entry foyer, in the 24/7 Learning Common and Café Kadjininy. We invite you to take advantage of these screens to promote your own activities, services and events to the many staff, students and community who pass through the library doors each day
